Terms of Use
Effective October 18, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Webaroo LLC (“we” or “us”) for the Lamp app and readlamp.app. By using Lamp, you agree to them. They add to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which also applies to your use of the app.
Using Lamp
Lamp is for your personal, non-commercial use. Please do not misuse it: no automated or bulk requests to the study service, no attempts to get around its daily limits, and nothing that disrupts it for others.
Scripture and credits
The Bible texts in Lamp, the Berean Standard Bible, the King James Version and the World English Bible, are in the public domain and are shown word for word. Original-language data comes from STEPBible (Tyndale House, Cambridge, CC BY 4.0) and cross references from OpenBible.info (CC BY). Full credits are in the app under Settings, About and licenses. The Lamp app, its name, design and artwork belong to Webaroo LLC.
AI study answers
“Explain it simply” and “Deep study” answers are written by an AI model (Claude, made by Anthropic) and are labeled as AI in the app. They can be incomplete or wrong. They are offered to help you read, not to replace Scripture itself, your church or pastor, or professional advice of any kind, including medical, legal, financial or mental health advice. Check what you read against Scripture. If an answer seems wrong, tap Report a problem under it or email us.
Free and Premium
Reading the Bible in Lamp is always free: every book, in every translation, with nothing in front of Scripture. Free use includes 3 AI study answers a day. Lamp Premium adds unlimited study answers, every reading plan, the devotional archive and premium card and widget styles.
Subscriptions
- Lamp Premium is an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly. The price of each plan is shown in the app before you buy.
- The yearly plan may start with a 7-day free trial. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the yearly subscription begins and you are charged. Any unused part of a free trial ends if you buy a subscription during it.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase, or when a free trial ends.
- Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Cancel anytime: in Lamp, open Settings, then Premium, then Manage subscription; or on your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. When you cancel, you keep Premium until the end of the period you paid for.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's policies.
No warranty
Lamp is provided as it is and as available. We work to keep it accurate and running, but we do not promise that it will always be available, free of errors, or right for your purposes.
Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Webaroo LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of Lamp, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for Lamp in the 12 months before the claim.
Changes
We may update these terms. When we do, we will post the new version here with a new effective date. Using Lamp after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of law rules.
